Unless Congress acts, some 6 million jobless workers could lose their UI lifeline in 2012. Led in by faith leaders, participants chanted, “We commit,” when asked if they would take action to help jobless workers and create an economy that works for all.</SPAN></SPAN><BR>

<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">El próximo 14 de Diciembre el Sindicato Mexicano de Electricista cumplirá 97 años de vida. Como parte de este importante acontecimiento realizaremos una movilización hacia la Secretaría de Gobernación para demandar la solución al conflicto derivado de la ilegal extinción de Luz y Fuerza del Centro, posteriormente realizaremos nuestra Asamblea General Ordinaria de Informes en la explanada del Monumento a la Revolución que culminará con un acto artístico y cultural.</P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"> </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">La solidaridad con nuestra lucha será determinante para doblegar la cerrazón del Gobierno Federal que, a dos años y un mes de estallado el conflicto, se niega a reconocer nuestro derecho al trabajo y pretende desconocer los acuerdos del 13 de Septiembre del 2011 donde se compromete a la reinserción laboral en el sector eléctrico de los 16 599 trabajadoras y trabajadores en resistencia que no hemos aceptado nuestra liquidación.</P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="BACKGROUND: white; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"> </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="BACKGROUND: white; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Como es sabido, el día 30 de noviembre, el Gobierno Federal presentó una primera propuesta de "solución" al conflicto que es inadmisible para el SME. Propone la creación de micro y medianas empresas (Pymes) proveedoras de obras y servicios a 12 dependencias del Gobierno Federal para los compañeros en resistencia a condición de que nos liquidemos, con un bono de por medio. Esto equivale a la “extinción voluntaria” del Sindicato al carecer de una fuente de trabajo y contrato colectivo, en el sector eléctrico. </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="BACKGROUND: white; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"> </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="BACKGROUND: white; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">La propuesta fue rechazada por nuestra Asamblea General, sin embargo no vamos a romper las negociaciones, en la mesa hay también otras demandas importantes como la libertad de nuestros 12 presos políticos. Ésta y la próxima semana acudiremos a la Secretaría de Gobernación para continuar las negociaciones en la búsqueda de una solución justa al conflicto. Es importante mencionar, que el Gobierno dejó entrever que puede ofrecer más. </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="BACKGROUND: white; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"> </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="BACKGROUND: white; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hasta ahora, así están las cosas, de ahí la importancia de ejercer mayor presión popular al Gobierno acudiendo a nuestra convocatoria en momentos decisivos como éste. Su asistencia a la movilización y nuestra Asamblea General de aniversario del día 14 de diciembre es estratégica para la solución del conflicto. Si por alguna razón esto no le es posible, les agradeceremos enviar saludos de solidaridad con nuestra organización y su digna lucha de resistencia a dos años un mes de estallado el conflicto.</P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"> </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Por último, queremos manifestar. Nuestra organización nació al calor de la revolución social del 10-17. En el marco de la toma militar de la Ciudad de México por los ejércitos campesinos de Francisco Villa y Emiliano Zapata, nuestros padres fundadores vieron en la rebelión campesina el mejor momento para constituirse en Sindicato, después de sortear la represión de la dictadura de Porfirista. Nuestra organización rompió con la Casa del Obrero Mundial porque se negó a integrarse a los “batallones rojos” de Venustiano Carranza que combatieron a los ejércitos campesinos revolucionarios de Villa y Zapata.</P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"> </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">En 1916 nuestra organización convocó a la primera Huelga General en México. La huelga fue respaldada por la Federación de Sindicatos del Distrito Federal y derivo en el encarcelamiento y condena a muerte, por Venustiano Carranza, de nuestro Secretario General, Ernesto Velasco. La movilización de masas de nuestros padres fundadores y otras organizaciones logró impedir esta sentencia y excarcelarlo. En 1936 el SME estalló la huelga por la consolidación de su contratación colectiva, por diez días la ciudad de México permaneció a obscuras a excepción de los servicios de emergencia. La huelga salió triunfante. Nuestra huelga del 36 es el antecedente de la huelga petrolera que derivó en la expropiación de ésta industria por el General Lázaro Cárdenas. En 1960 fuimos un factor determinante en la nacionalización de la Industria Eléctrica que definió el carácter público del servicio eléctrico en México. De los años 90 a la fecha el SME ha sido un baluarte en la lucha en contra de la privatización de la electricidad y la defensa de la soberanía energética del país. Actualmente nuestra organización libra una feroz batalla en defensa de la libertad sindical, la contratación colectiva y por un servicio público de electricidad accesible para toda la población del país.</P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"> </P>
<P class=ecxMsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Nuestra lucha va más allá de la recuperación de nuestro empleo, está orientada en la defensa de la soberanía nacional, en la defensa de los derechos sociales y libertades democráticas conquistadas por el pueblo de México, en la búsqueda de alternativas políticas y sociales para la construcción de un México distinto al mancillado por el neoliberalismo. Nuestra lucha es por un México sin pobreza, sin exclusión de nadie, con independencia y soberanía. ¡PAZ, LIBERTAD Y JUSTICIA!</P>
