Under the plan, unemployment benefits would be cut off until applicants are nearly broke and millions of working families would be denied a child tax credit. </p><p style="margin-bottom: 1.35em; ">They’re cutting these programs to pay for tax breaks for millionaires. As House leaders cut $7.8 billion in funding for the child tax credit, they’re putting the same amount into a new tax break for millionaires. This week they’re flat out rejecting that agreement so they can shield millionaires and wealthy corporations from contributing even one cent toward the $1.2 trillion in deficit reduction measures they were supposed to enact.</p><p style="margin-bottom: 1.35em; ">This is an appalling piece of legislation and would needlessly hurt working class families. Urge your member of Congress to vote against this bill (the Ryan Budget Reconciliation package).
