Draft agenda for student ACTIVIST CONFERENCE, Sussex University (Falmer)
Saturday 27 May

Cosponsored by Education Not for Sale, University of Sussex Students'
Union, UK Students Against Coke, Earth First Students and Students Against
Sweatshops. Speakers include a French anti-CPE campaigners and activists
from the American United Students Against Sweatshops campaign.

We also hope to have a discussion on how student activists can support the
AUT and NATFHE in their ongoing pay dispute.

11.30am Registration

12 Opening plenary: "The struggle for education" with speakers from ENS,
USSU, AUT and US United Students Against Sweatshops

a) Fighting cuts on your campus (Sort US Out, Lambeth College SU, ENS)
b) Building campaigning women's groups (Sophie Conway-Allen, USSU Women's
Group and ENS Women)
c) Campaigning for a living wage and workers' rights on campus (USAS, TELCO)

2.20pm Session 2

a) Lessons from the French students and workers' struggle (with a French
speaker)
b) Combining creativity and confrontation to take on Big Oil (Joe Rooney,
ENS and NUS NEC, Dan Glass, USSU president-elect, and Art Not Oil)
c) Workers' resistance in Latin America (Bolivia Solidarity, Colombia
Solidarity, speaker from Venezuela)

a) How can we fight top-up fees next year? A campaign planning forum
b) Kicking killer corporations off campus (UKSAC, Campaign Against the
Arms Trade)
c) Anti-fascist action (Matti Ron, Antifa)
