Events meeting Sunday 5/30.
In attendance: Nathan, Ramey, Al, Christie

We discussed the fact that there is usually lower attendance of things
in the summer and so to that end decided for this month to do fewer
events and make sure we do them well. We also wanted to have events
which focus on the library itself.

The monthly group potluck will be Friday June 11th at 7:00 - Ramey
will bottom line.

Jen had work but sent on an idea to show Meet Me in the Bottom, a
documentary about the Richmond Slave Burial Ground currently under VCU
paved parking. It was assumed Jen would bottom line, but just in case
Ramey offered to assist. We discussed the idea that the movie should
start later rather than earlier, now that the sun is up longer. The
movie will be shown Saturday June 12th at 8:00.

Nathan suggested we have a work day for the library where people who
are interested can come clean, help organize, etc, and also get a feel
for how the library itself works. Christie suggested that there be
some snacky food. This will happen on Saturday June 19th from 2-6,
Nathan will bottom line.

We discussed how to introduce more people to our collection of books
and discussed theme nights. Christie suggested having a radical
erotica night where we would read parts of books in the library and
people could also bring in selections they would like to add. We will
try to have foods that are aphrodisiacs or on theme. We discussed the
need for guidelines and so far have no rape scenes (other S&M
selections will be allowed) and that people must have read what they
are bringing ahead of time so we can give trigger warnings if
necessary. People should add suggestions to this. This will happen
on Friday June 25th at 7:00, Christie will bottom line.

We discussed having an event around the 4th of July which will need
planning before July, but will plan for this later in this month.
