Hello everyone,

These are the notes from the last volunteer meeting that was held on Oct. 3rd.

Events:

A few ideas were tossed around for events during October, including a
Queer Mixer that I am happy to bottom line. This will not be until the
end of the month and I will update folks on the date. If you would
like to help me put it together, feel free to contact me via e-mail,
phone, facebook, whatever.
Christie and I also mentioned doing a skill sharing/crafts night. The
date is not set but we will both talk to some friends and hopefully
have a date set by the end of the week.
OCT. 15th we will be having a potluck/movie night for Volunteers and
their friends. @ 7pm. If anyone would like to come up with some fliers
that would be great!

Newsletter:

Kendell offered to help format the newsletter. Included in the coming
issue will be a book review, zine reviews, recommended zines list, a
photo, an article on a local event, and a literary section. We should
have it by next week.

Open Hours:

In preparation for zine fest, we are trying to create "grab bags" of
zines ( around 5 per bag) to sell for 3$. There are zines labeled
"grab bag" at the brick, in the crates next to the computer desk. If
folks would like to put them together into manila folders during open
hours, that would be great. I will be doing some of that this Thursday
if you'd like to join me!
We also talked about sorting through the bricks collection of zines in
order to create more space. We talked about sorting through the
endless amounts of "personal" zines and trying to categorize them
differently and/or store some away in the file cabinets in order to
create space for new zines. That is also a task that can be done
during open hours.

There was also talk of getting together Sunday after noon for coffee
and chit chat about Zinefest and tabling. If you'd like to join, just
holler on here or contact me. An updated time will be sent out soon.

That is all, I believe. If there is information that I have left out
please correct me.
