Please circulate this meeting notice widely and make it a prioority to
attend. I think the IWW should have a solid, credible presence at this
event.
This is a critcal time to show widespread community support for this issue
when VCU is stonewalling and refusing to treat the African-American
community with dignity and respect. If it was a white cemetery datng back to
before the Civil War, we can be sure VCU would have long ago stopped parking
cars here.
In the spirit of Gabriel and Barbara Johns I hope to see eveyone there.

Oct. 10 is the 210th anniversary of the martyrdom of Gabriel,

the great slave rebellion leader who was executed on this day

on the town gallows at Richmond's African Burial Ground,

the city’s oldest municipal Black cemetery.


Today that cemetery lies disrespected under a parking lot

owned by Virginia Commonwealth University

Come and hear about the lawsuit, the documentary film,

the growing local, national and international pressure
