Hey y'all, sorry for all the last minute events lately, but things have been
a little crazy, and the e-mail isn't being checked regularly. I've started
to do it myself, but it would be awesome if others were to help out. The
user name and password is in the Volunteer Red Book in the Library.
Anyway, these are the 2 proposed events:
September 29th - Fermentation Workshop, hosted by Michelle, Jack, and Myra
(a housemate). This will be a chilled out event. They were thinking at 6pm.
Also, they wanted to know if it was cool that they showed people how to make
alcoholic cider, even though it would still be a sober event. I suggested
they just make it clear that would be happening when they promoted it.
September 30th - Tricia Shapiro, speaking about her new book on Mountain Top
Removal, brought to you by AK Press, James River Earth First! and the Flying
Brick Library. This would take place during open hours and would hopefully
draw a larger crowd than usual. We could do it out back, to prevent
disruption of Open Hours. We originally were planning to do it at VCU,
through Green Unity, but Tricia is trying to make it to Asheville by
Saturday and was hoping we could have it a day earlier. This would start at
6pm.
Tell me what you think! Even if you are totally down! Hope to hear from you
soon!
