History of TFBL Pamphlet")
Open Hours
Address
website - wordpress & librarything. If there's time/space, the
RVA Radicalendar could be mentioned
All volunteer
While a radical space, TFB is not strictly anarchist or
politically-oriented. Everybody is welcome to organize in the space.
Books are centered on social issues with a focus of harder-to-find
stuff.
Not just books; also an extensive zine collection, videos,
fliers, and periodicals
All ages safe space - all events, including open hours and
meetings, are sober
Regarding photos: best to keep it to photos of the books themselves;
Beehive Collective has given permission to use photos from their
event, but try not to use photos of people who have not given their
explicit consent
2) Reorganizing - Ideas for new sections/rearranged sections are in
the red notebook. People can move books, alphabetize, or make notes.
Spot is help in red notebook with a notecard. Ramey will be at Open
Hours on Monday reorganizing if others would like to join and help.
3) Open Hours for July will be bottomlined by Brantley & should be
posted soon
There is still one more slot open for June 30th; Christie will
send out notice. Almost all shifts in June are still in need of a
secondary person.
4) We want to do a series of film screenings & potlucks, with each
film based on a book we have in the library, and with the potluck
having a theme related to the book/film. (As per example, screening
Persepolis with Iranian foods, or screening Che with a variety of
foods from Latin America, etc)
Proposed doing one screening per month on a Friday evening
Christie will bottomline first event & will send out a separate
email regarding feedback for possible dates & films
5) A community organizing training conference/forum is in the very
basic works right now. The next meeting is on Tuesday June 21st at 5PM
with the location TBA. Please contact Ramey at 804-519-8724 if you are
interested or would like more details.
