To be read or otherwise conveyed at tonight's meeting:

Brickers,

Anarchist folk musician Ryan Harvey (of Riot Folk) is starting a
nationwide tour for his latest (13th!) album, Ordinary Heroes - songs
about war & peace, anti-racism, personal growth, and social movements,
dedicated to Howard Zinn. He'll be playing a show at Monroe Park on
Thursday, July 7th. He's heard about the renovation issue and is down
with this being a "Keep Monroe Open & Free" show if folks want it to
be.

I've been listening to Ryan for years, and I'm super-excited to help out
with the show, so he obviously has my personal endorsement as far as his
messaging and politics.

Three things that the Brick could potentially do to help:

1) Ryan is asking for help from the anarchist community for the first
time to make touring a lot smoother. He's attempting to raise $3,300 in
one month with Kickstarter. A donation by the Brick would be awesome, and
since Kickstarter is an "all or nothing" type service, if the grand total
is not met, no one HAS to pay anything.

2) It would be awesome if the Brick would officially endorse the show and
participate in bringing people out - through flyering (once flyers are
ready), personal invites, and social networking promotion. I'm also
asking this of the Wingnut.

3) The Brick would be a great backup location in case of bad weather.

It would be awesome if Brickers would discuss these at the meeting.
Regardless of whether/how the Brick decides to participate, anyone
interested in participating in setting up the show should get in
touch.

    Thanks!

- K
