Day of Action for Immigrant Justice


Friday, Feb. 17, 2012


11 am – noon – Rally & Press Conference

at the Bell Tower at Capitol Square

(corner of N. 9th & E. Grace streets)


Noon – 4 pm – Lobby Action & Literature Drop

at the General Assembly Building

(9th and E. Broad streets)


Join the Virginia Immigrant People's Coalition as we fight back
against the racist, anti-immigrant bills proposed in the General
Assembly of Virginia! Grassroots groups from around the state will be
gathering to resist these efforts to divide working people and
distract attention from the real enemy: exploitation, oppression and
corporate greed.


If the bills proposed become law,


(1)  Police would be able to ask for papers from you based on the
color of your skin;


(2)  Undocumented kids would be banned from attending state universities; and


(3)  Poor and elderly people who lack government ID would be prevented
from voting.
