Hey y'all!
I just wanted to see how others felt about this issue:
Christopher Maxwell, who works with and helped found WRIR, asked 
permission to record the lecture on Friday, a talk about sustainability.
But I realized after we'd been having an open discussion for a while 
that he was actually recording all the comments made after the lecture 
was over.
Since Alexis was the only one speaking during the first part and wanted 
the lecture recorded for future use/information sharing, I felt okay 
about that.
Christopher asked me directly whether he had permission to record just 
part or all of the event and I told him he could only record the 
beginning.  He ignored that request.
I realize nothing too compromising or controversial, by progressive 
standards, was said, and so I don't think there is cause for anyone who 
attended to be alarmed.
   However, the fact that he ignored what I specifically asked him to 
do... that really bothers me, and makes me feel that he should not be 
welcome at future events, and should not be allowed to record anything 
from now on.  But I don't know if I would trust him to show up and not 
record...
So, I just wanted to know how serious people feel this is?  I think it 
can be a security risk, and this kind of disregard for folks' wishes is 
the problem... more that, in the future, this could be potentially 
harmful or cause problems for people, and Brick events should be safe.
