I think scrapping the theme idea is probably best. I love the idea of highlighting books in our library with movies! Maybe there could be a small discussion after each film? Just with a couple prompt questions, nothing too long, it would just be nice to get people talking together, outside of the friends they know. I feel like potlucks are very social, but people tend to stick to the group they came with, and it would be great for everyone to share together how the felt about the film they just watched.<br>

out the idea we hadn't discussed possible books so I think we just<br>
figured the potluck could tie in in some way with the content of<br>
whatever book. I feel like we weren't thinking critically after we<br>
picked out possible books when applying that idea. But yeah, it<br>
shouldn't be based around the characters or author's nationality or<br>
ethnicity, since most people coming will quite probably be outside of<br>
that. And since that is often the simplest connection that people<br>
will make if we just say bring something that makes you think of or<br>
from such and such a book, maybe we should just go ahead and scrap the<br>
food theme idea and just have general potlucks as a movie<br>
accompaniment. Thanks for bringing this up, hope I got what you were<br>
trying to say right.<br>
