- Allison and Nathan will be making sure tabling materials get to GCCR on time
- Allison & her housemate Molly will bottomline tabling, but many folks have said they were coming and would put in some time at the table.

Announcements/Upcoming Events:

- Acoustic show, Sunday, Oct. 7th, 7pm
- Alison Self bottomlining
- Next Core Collective Meeting, Sunday, Oct. 14th, 1pm
- Continue Convo from this meeting with larger group.

Self-Evaluation:

I will try and summarize the main themes that came up.

Problem: Inconsistency/Lack of Accountability
- Frustration with half the Core not being at this meeting, indicator of a larger pattern
- There was understanding that things come up, but no one was informed until the morning of the meeting that few people could make it. With more notice, the meeting could have been rescheduled.
- No one wants organizing to be super serious all the time, but we need more discipline to get things done we want to see done.
- All members admitted playing into this behavior, not the blame of only one or two people
- reasons may have to do with people not understanding their place in the group/what the function of a core collective should be, and some may not see this as something that is a part of their life, not just a hobby that can be casually picked up and put down when its convenient.

Suggestions for solution:
- More conversations/reading/understanding of the history of the Brick
- read the history pamphlet, Complete Control Anthology by Greg Wells, Google searches of past Brick activities.
- Jeremy and Greg have been talking about doing a oral history project for the Flying Brick
- Nathan is talking to Greg about coming to talk/hangout with the Core Collective
- Anniversary Party will have some story telling from old housemates about what the Brick has done in the past.

Problem: Impatience with Core Collective Process
- some would like to move the Brick forward faster
- some believe we are too ahead of ourselves, emphasizing workgroup process over overall context and purpose of the Flying Brick as a space.
- some find it hard to feel connected when they don't know the history/aren't experienced with organizing
- agreed that the group's primary focus should be to sustain the space, second objective should be to move forward and push activity and motion

Other Remarks:
- Meetings as well as other functions have been lacking in people taking intiative.
- people shouldn't be afraid to fuck up, should have a space to ask for help/support
- Organizing and political work CHANGES YOU, don't accept where you or your friends are now, acknowledge where you are then think about where you want to go, and how you're going to GET THERE
- learn to challenge yourself and the people around you, in a supportive and caring way

--
Always with Solidarity

Nathan
