Invitation to the next Camp for Climate Action organising meeting in
London

Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th June 2006; (& Saturday night Art Not Oil
launch party, 8-midnight)

Climate change will transform life on Earth without action now. We are
currently on course for a 3C degree rise in temperature, which is likely
to mean the deaths of 400 million of the world's poorest people, and a
social crisis that will engulf us all. And still the insane machine
rumbles on: political clichés about sustainable growth, full steam ahead
for nuclear power, a European carbon trading scheme that has lost all
credibility, and a pitiful tax on the heavy polluters.

The Camp for Climate Action is about standing up and saying no to these
doomed techno-fixes, no to the fantasy of endless growth, and no to the
false solution of green consumerism. The camp will be thousands of people
taking part in 10 days of low impact living with information on climate
change, debates, practical workshops to reduce our ecological footprints,
and mass direct action against major carbon criminals.

We are a growing network of groups and individuals who hold a monthly
organising gathering. We hope to see you at the London planning meeting,
or at future gatherings. If you can't make any of those, get in touch all
the same -- we may be able to put you in touch with people nearby who are
also planning to go.

Address: St Matt's, Bullivant Street, London E14 0ER (All Saints DLR
station) More info from: facilitation at climatecamp.org.uk or
london at risingtide.org.uk The meeting will run from 11am to 6pm on Saturday
and 10-5 on Sunday.

Accommodation space is available and free if you contact us in advance.
Please bring your own bedding (sleeping bag & mat). Please also contact us
if you have any access, dietary or crèche needs. The meeting space is
fully accessible. Food will be provided and will be about £10 per person,
and there will be a travel pool so that people who have to come a long way
on public transport can afford to come. Check out the website for an
agenda, directions to the venue, and info on how our meetings work.

with a launch event on Saturday 10th at the 491 Gallery, (491 Grove Green
