Apologies for the mass-message, but I wondered if any of the woodcraft types here were able to help out on a project. I know a company that are developing a product that takes the form of a nicely finished wooden box (prototypes currently machined from Iroko) that contains a time-lock mechanism. The idea is it's an attractive item, designed to hold several phones, iPads etc and lock them in for a period, for example while people are eating a meal together. The boxes themselves have already been designed and milled from solid Iroko, and the mechanisms are all complete but what is missing is someone who can help with creating a beautiful finish, preparing the wooden surfaces and applying stain / varnish / oil to achieve a high quality finish and the desired aesthetic. This is a paid job at reasonable market rates I should add. After this stage they want to talk to someone who can help cost-engineer the wooden aspects for the box and perhaps recommend suppliers. Do let me know if interested and I can pass on details. Regards James -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Also while I'm typing, what's the situation with the wood lathe at the moment? Is it still all running ok? Has there been any chucks added to the collection? Thanks, -Lewis.
