I'm not totally irreligious, but I don't think anyone designed the  
human body did they? That's a personall belief thing, but if you are  
saying that the human body was "designed" for anything it can  
healthily assimilate, then you'd also have to say that it was  
"designed" to eat human flesh, bits of fluff from the floor and tree  
bark, none of which I think befit the modern palette.

In studies vegetarians are often measured to live an average of 4-6  
years longer, though personally I eat flesh of many kinds on occasion.

I personally think that vegan-ism is a very good way to structure ones  
food intake in a healthy and sustainable way. True, a vegan diet  
doesn't have to have those qualities but it's usually a damn good push  
in the right direction. I for one like to support the choice to be  
vegan.

Talking of unusual diets, maybe opening a can of worms on the list  
wasn't such a good idea :P
