[HacktionLab] GPG Key Transition

I'm in the process of doing this, do I need to:

Create a new key
sign it with my old key
upload it to keys.indymedia.org etc
wait about a month
revoke my old key

I've set up gpg to prefer sha512 already, so I'm guessing that gen-key
will automatically use this digest?

Is this about right or do I have the wrong end of the gpg stick?
