I did a post about the writing of Tech Tools for Activists for the Booki
community.

The idea for a leaflet outlining some secure channels of communications
and help on using the Free Software needed, came about at a gathering of
Techies and media activists called Barn Camp. BarnCamp is an event which
the Hacktionlab network.

Basically we were frustrated at the lack of knowledge and uptake of
great tools that are out there. And rather than keep sitting around and
moaning about it we decided that a leaflet would be a clear and good
form out outreach to move beyond the virtual. We divided up the ideas
into different chapters......
