On the subject of wiki you should check ikiwiki out
you can use git as a backend for it, so you get all the decentralised goodness of carrying your data in your own git repo, with excitement of a web based wiki.
Imagine editing your docs on your laptop offline, when you get good connectivity, do a git push and share with the world.
Well now you can! Plus it's written in perl and support mediawiki syntax as well as Markdown
