Hi Charlie,

There seems to be a bit of a war going on with claims and couter-claims
about whether or not it's possible to do crypto securely in browser with
javascript see below for a taste:

https://github.com/kaepora/cryptocat/issues/16

I honestly don't know enough to say who is right but the underlying
cryptography, (OTR encryption), is available in traditional desktop
program via the the OTR plugin for pidgin.

It's not too hard to to use this with your own jabber/XMPP server, I
recommend ejabberd.

Cheers,
John

Do you know of a way to buy domain names anonymously, that can then be
mapped to a network23 blog? I'd like the full SEO benefits of the domain
name when mapped but would prefer not to be identified as the owner of a
site.

I'm not that sure about full anonymity - as normally some one usually
buys with a credit card.

however I'm sure that there are companies that have a good privacy
policy and would require a court order before they hand over details.

gandi.net are who I use.

also i'll pass on the question to the hacktionlab list to see what if
there is other feedback.

any ideas, people?

Prepaid credit card (i.e. one you can pay cash for)? And (obviously)
make sure you're browsing anon when buying the domain.
