Hi all
I'm not going to make it this year, so I can't help, or even attend
any of these, but if I was going I would be interested in seeing some
mobile phone stuff.
This might include:
* A install party for these mobile tools:
http://en.flossmanuals.net/tech-tools-for-activism/mobile-phone-security-and-android-apps/ Including sharing usernames so those attending could continue to share Encrypted calls and texts after the
event.
* Continuing to play with Serval which offers Peer to peer calls over
ad-hoc wifi mesh network. This could be very useful in situations
where the phone network is overloaded or switched off. This was alpha
software last year and we didn't get it working. It's now beta and
worked surprisingly well when we played with it at Bristol Wireless
http://www.servalproject.org
* Playing with Paw server http://paw-android.fun2code.de/piratebox
and Piratebox
http://fun2code-blog.blogspot.fr/2011/12/piratebox-on-android.html
This could be used at events to spread information via Wifi, bust
cards etc. Or just to spread electronic propaganda of your choice
whilst sitting on the train.
So not sure if it's helpful to mention these when I can't actually
help, but I guess someone might be keen to run one or more of them..
Cheers
Sam
