Hi there, I'm helping to run a series of workshops on digital tools for
campaigners and community activists. Anyone folk in Manchester or near
very wel.com

There are 4 sessions over Mondays in June and as spaces are limited. It
is possible to go to just some of the workshops, but it would be great
if people could sign up for all /  as many as possible so that you work
as a group throughout and learn about how to pass on skills.

Manchester  - Tech Tools for Activism Workshops

This summer we are running 4 weeks of workshops on publishing, promoting
and organising online for campaigners and community activists interested
in passing on these skills.

The core skills will be:

  * Creating and styling websites using an anonymous Wordpress site.
  * Micro-blogging with Twitter and alternatives
  * Designing flyers and logos
  * Tools for organising online
  * Using audio and video to promote your cause

All workshops are free. We hope that by running them it will help
current projects like the Mule magazine, Manchester social centre
project and community computer education at the Redbricks estate.

What are we doing this? The workshops are being run as a way of
preparing the delivery of a longer course targeted at underemployed
artists and creative. You can help us by networking this course to your

As well as learning more about these subjects you will also get tips and
resources on how to pass these skills on to other people.

Dates for these workshops are Monday 3rd and 10th June at the Green Fish
Building Oldham Street and Monday 17th and 24th June at then TARA office
in the Redbricks Estate. Workshops run from 6.30-8.30pm
