[HacktionLab] Memory consumption of Linux desktops

Hi,

I'm running xmonad with xmobar, and trayer (using lightdm). That comes
out pretty low on memory requirements:

 4.3 MiB + 364.0 KiB =   4.7 MiB	xmonad-x86_64-linux
 8.3 MiB + 449.5 KiB =   8.7 MiB	xmobar
 1.6 MiB +   1.0 MiB =   2.7 MiB	trayer
 1.8 MiB + 933.0 KiB =   2.7 MiB	lightdm (2)

My total memory use atm is around 800Mb with all the crap I have
running, though!

If you need something /really/ tiny, http://incise.org/tinywm.html is
worth a look:

"TinyWM is a tiny window manager that I created as an exercise in
minimalism... It is only around 50 lines of C."

It'll run in under a megabyte; though you need X to be running too.

If you're after something more usable, but still not too memory hungry
BlackBox and JWM are pretty nice and my guess is that they'll be
considerably less memory hungry than enlightenment...
