[HacktionLab] BarnCamp - are you coming? workshops and promotion.

Hi Mike,

I'm hoping to come to BarnCamp.  I would like to do a workshop on neuroscience & computing- the EU is currently investing significant amounts of it's computer science research budget (1BillionEuro over ten years) to develop computing technologies for and from neuroscience- so neuroinformatics (High Performance Computing for processing of biological data from brains), new algorithms to search through big data haystacks for small data needles, neuroinformatic chips (new algorithm processing chips copied from the brains of mice), future social technologies for managing people, new robotics and artificial intelligence technologies ('brain-like' machines) that do everything from financial trading for hedge funds to automate military technologies (smart missiles, drone assassinations, etc).  I had someone who might be a bit more techy than me that might have been able to get us access to a neuromorphic chip but I don't think the timing fits her schedule so mostly the workshop would just be discussion of the political implications of computer science turning to biology to patent what mother nature has already invented - no actual brain surgery or computing involved.  

If that would be interesting to anyone I would be happy to bring a workshop.  And also good to see everyone again and always happy to drink beer, wake up in the Wye Valley!

please do sign up as we need to plan for numbers and decide on what's
worth doing and how to do it.  So if you haven't got around to it,
