Hello,
I've booked on to the form. I worked fine for me.

I've arranged to stay with friends. So I'm all good there.
I'll put up an idea that I have for a workshop soon
https://hacktionlab.org/index.php?title=Workshops_for_HacktionLab_Summer_2023
It's about how people actually learn to code and to do digital projects
of all kinds.
I just wrote a chapter about using a limited collection of gameplay
design patterns as a way of kickstarting a community of novice coders to
make games to share with family and friends.
Different people learn in different ways but it was through going to
events like hacktionlab that I really ended up learning so much about
more general ways of doing things and using tools.
It made me the nerd I am today.
I would be interested, as part of this workshop, or in the lead up, to
know what helped people develop their skills in making digital things
beyond clunking through tutorials. Were design patterns useful, what
other tricks and tips did you pick up off other people? What advice
would you give to novices now?
nice one
Mick
