Hi :D

My name is Billy.

I haven't yet attended any of the Hacktion Lab events, but I took oart in
the last UK FarmHack event in March 2020.

I am still shielding-in-place due to the current Covid19 that is still
running rampant, and killing people.

Granted that I am currently undergoing chemotherapy, so I am in the
clinically-vulnerable category, but even if I was not vulnerable, I would
still be masking, as the Covid pandemic is still causing disablement and
deaths.

While Covid spreads via respiratory means, Covid is a vascular disease,
that directly attacks the blood vessels around the major organs in the
body, and which organ it attacks is still random.

This is why the effects of Long Covid cover a very wide range of symptoms,
as the organs that Covid infection attacks is random each time you get an
infection.

There has been a great increase in the number of people aged between early
20's, up to early 30's, dying from heart attacks, and this is
directly-related to Covid infections.

----------------

Wearing masks is self-care, and wearing masks is a direct solidarity
action done to support the clinically-vulnerable, the ill, the disabled,
and, the immune-system-compromised, who cannot be vaccinated at all.

----------------

If you look at the safety requirements at events aimed at the very rich,
and at billionaires, and they still use extreme caution when it comes to
Covid.

The precautions that they take at Davos is a well-documented example.

Seriously, do a search for Davos Covid Safety Precautions, and you will
find that people with that level of resources are still acting in a manner
to not become infected.

Sean, Mark, Mike, and, Nick.

I understand the comments that you have all made, but there are some
simple precaustions that are the basic minimum that can be done.

Yes, masks can muffle, and can hide the lips, but there are specific masks
that are rated to block Covid, that have clear sections on the front of
the face, so lip reading can still be used.

Those can be bought from any good supplier.

----------------------

There are also effective forms of UVC lighting that can stop the spread of
these infections.

https://www.nukit222.com/

provides the lights that we are installing at the London Hackspace.

If you dig through their Safety And Efficacy section of their website, you
can find a wide range of resources, papers, as well as links to
instructions for making Corsi-Rosenthal boxes for air filtration.

I have personally paid for the lights for the London Hackspace, as it
makes it safer for everyone to use.

Let me know if you want a set for HacktionLab, and I will happily order
them & pay for them.

----------------------

Due to my arthritis and chemo, I will probably not make it to this years
event, but I'll try to plan for next year. :D

----------------------

- Just went to check the delivery times and they are out of stock. :(

- I left my email and they'll shout me when they are next on sale. :)

----------------------

Luck, Love, and Solidarity,

Billy
