Hi Mara - I'm up for trying to support an upcoming film project in a
similar way.<br>
<br>
The film is based around a timeline of horizontal organising and
direct action - working title is I think 'Rent a mob - a timeline of
trouble makers'.<br>
<br>
So lots of interviews are happening to be recorded and released
under open licence as a parallel web release to add to the edited
film.<br>
<br>
I'm interested in this aspect and how to best represent it by Date,
and by Event, Location, and by Campaign or Theme.<br>
<br>
In someway the representation of video along a timeline that you can
zoom in on for more granularity or zoom out for more of an over all
picture is the the bit I'm most interested in.<br>
<br>
It does seem like Popcorn is a good project to work with. I know
that when we were doing the Open Video Course there was a great demo
of it we found -<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://xmlab.booktype.pro/open-video-workbook/_draft/_v/1.0/case-study-popcornjs/">http://xmlab.booktype.pro/open-video-workbook/_draft/_v/1.0/case-study-popcornjs/</a><br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://highrise.nfb.ca/onemillionthtower">http://highrise.nfb.ca/onemillionthtower</a><br>
<br>
The idea would be to represent Video and associated Audio and Still
for people that don't want to be on the video - along a timeline or
by category in a pleasing fashion - getting out of the box!<br>
<br>
<br>
AND even more ideally to come up with a bit of modular spec for
submitting multimedia content to be put into this timeline so it can
become a living and easily updatable resources. (maybe interacting
with uploaded files on archive.org for prosperity and keeping it
cheap) .<br>
<br>
I'm wondering if this isn't a good excuse for a HactionLab gathering
around this specific area. I think getting 5-15 people in a room and
working with some existing video clips would be really productive I
think.<br>
<br>
Also they are already doing this kind of thing in the London
Hackspace as far as I know.<br>
<br>
Would anyone on the list be interested in something like that if it
happened?<br>
<br>
nice one<br>
