>Hi all,
>
>The bookclub met last night amid much jammy doger
>munching. Publicity has not yet reached the masses so
>it was unanimously decided to use last night's meet to
>sort out the next few weeks book list and any ground
>rules etc so Zola was deferred till next time....
>
>Here is a timetable of the books you need to read for
>August/September (7-9pm Conway Hall, nominator shown
>in brackets):

>Tues 1st August L'Assommoir, Emile Zola (Becky)
>Tues 15th August The Whole Woman, Germaine Greer (Joy)
>Tues 29th August The Prince, Machiavelli (Camilla)
>Tues 12th September The Rise of Scientific Philosophy,
>Hans Reichenbach (Ian)
>
>Basic ground rules are who ever nominates the book
>must facilitate the session in whatever capacity they
>see fit. They should also try to get to Conway Hall
>early (6.30/45ish) to assist with tea/refreshments. It
>was also suggested who ever hadn't read the book could
>do the washing up but I don't think that was
>officially ratified. Also it was expressed that it is
>vital that everyone must be allowed to say their piece
>on the book having taken the trouble to read it.
>
>More nominators will be needed to name their books
>soon to give everyone time to read and digest.
>
>OK happy reading and see you all on 1st August.
