I strongly agree with what you say about parents "rights" thats why I don't believe they should have any

I don't think they should be able to choose a deaf child over a hearing child but I see nothing wrong if you go for a scan and find the child will be deaf and then have an abortion- you may do it for selfish reasons but objectively you are saving the yet unborn from
 suffering

If you happen to be deaf for whatever medical reason you should have access to free state of the art technology as available regardless of cost

But it is daft to argue for" deaf rights " meaning the right for the deaf to be born in the future. ( No one has a right to be born) . The gay analogy does not wash

because gay people only suffer because of the action s of others
and there is no cure for being gay nor should anyone suggest they ought to be

Non of this leaves me any wiser about the Bill itself
but I am infavour of cloning organs so if I need a transplant I don't have to hope for someone who is more healthy than me to die
or worry if the doctors allowed some one with a 50:50
chance of survival to die so they could get the organs

I think that the argument is that in some bill (don't know the name either)
parents will be allowed to preffer a hearing child over the deaf child to be
kept, while at the same time if the parents will want to keep the deaf baby and
get rid of the hearing one, they will be stopped.

Their argument (not mine) seems to be that in today's world homosexuals also
suffer due to being gay/lesbian.

My take is slightly different, i believe that parent "rights" in today's society
seems to be trumping all other people's freedoms, for example freedoms of their
children (in this case unborn children). To me the whole idea of parents chosing
who "their" children are, what they study, what religion they become, etc is
quite horrific.

Free your mind and seek the truth.
