Thanks for taking the time to prepare and post the paper - shame there 
weren't more people there to discuss it. The paper makes a lot of good 
points, though overall I am not quite as pessimistic about information 
technology as you. There is a battle going on, and it can seem like 
corporate and government interests will always have the upper hand, but 
organisations like the Electronic Frontier Foundation and (the UK 
equivalent) the Open Rights Group are fighting our corner and should be 
supported:
