The Current Crisis - A Challenge to the Utopianism in Anarchism

Tim Pendry, former organiser of the Grassroots Alliance within the Labour Party and now independent, argues that the current crisis offers a unique opportunity for anarchist ideas to enter the mainstream as a much wider libertarian challenge to a State proven to be greedy and incompetent.

Unfortunately, many 'anarchists' are still navel-gazers with a view of the human condition that is out-dated. With centralised state socialism becoming discredited even in its reform model, anarchism could lose the moment. Tim challenges anarchists to create new political strategies alongside their direct action successes.
