The GMB IUSW is holding an event on March 8th to celebrate International Women’s Day and the human rights of sex workers. We hope to raise funds and awareness about the government’s latest proposals to criminalise those who buy sex in the name of protecting those who are trafficked.

The evening will consist of poetry, comedy, striptease, short stories and a short film about sex work in Italy. It is our hope that sex workers and their allies will come together to celebrate the work that we do in light of the government’s latest proposals, and to raise concern about the negative impact that a further change to the law will have for sex workers.

Please contact the branch secretary if you would like to perform at the event. We are looking for people who are, or have been sex workers, and their allies to contribute something relating to this broad theme.

Attached is the flyer for the event (rotate image in your .pdf program to view).

See you at the Poetry Cafe in Covent Garden, 22 Beterton St, Sunday 8th March, 7 till late (nearest tubes Covent Garden, Holborn, Charring Cross, Enbankment) £8 (£4 consessions) Alcohol lisence and disabled access.
