That would be a good gathering.

By special I meant that if we felt it was weekly 'duty' to turn up and
had to miss something else then it puts it in a negative light (not that that
happened much, tho some Saturdays I'd rather stay in and watch TV) however
if it were a gathering we knew most people would turn up for then it becomes a
pleasure.... Though admittedly even that could become tiresome, so perhaps it
was just the weekly regularity?
