[LAF] Steve Ash has died

This message is a modified copy of an email circulated to a lot of Steve Ash's contacts.  Circulated to LAF email list in case some people on this list haven't heard.  Steve Ash was expected to give a talk at the Anarchist Bookfair on Oct 18th but died before he could give it.

..........................................................................................  I am very sad to report that the rumours going round about Steve Ash having passed away at the weekend (Oct 18/19) are unfortunately true.
 
Ed rang Adrian last night, who passed the message on to me.  When Jocelyn heard that I had said to Ed that I did not believe the story, Jocelyn kindly rang me at work and confirmed by voicemail.  I still did not believe it but attended the advertised memorial tonight (Oct 21).  When I saw Steve's mum was there I had to believe that it was not a prank by Steve at all.
 
Steve's mum, Daphne Westcott, told us she found Steve lying face down Saturday 18th October after he'd been finishing up his paper which he'd planned to present at a 5pm meeting at the London Anarchist Bookfair that day.  Daphne called emergency services and they spent about 25 minutes trying to revive Steve but could not.  We will find out the official cause of his death after the autopsy but suspect it was a heart attack.
 
Kim had organised the memorial drink which was held at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street and although many people were there they were just a fraction of Steve's friends as most of his friends have not heard yet.  Jocelyn was there, and Kittoo and Gloria were there.  Daphne said most of Steve's address book is on his phone which Daphne cannot access.
