<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>This month we are showing two films about the situation on the Israeli/Palestine border around the West Bank and in particular the huge wall Israel is building under the pretence of “security”. The films are (1) The Iron Wall and (2) Anarchists Against The Wall. Whatever your political persuasion these are both amazing films about the hidden details of the wall; Israel’s policy towards the occupied territories and resistance on both sides of the divide. </FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>In 1923, Vladmir Jabotinsky - father of the Zionist right - wrote: "Zionist colonisation can proceed and develop only under the protection of a power that is independent of the native population - behind an <SPAN>IRON WALL</SPAN>, which the native population cannot breach." From that day on, these words became the official and unspoken policy of the Zionist movement and, later, the State of Israel. Colonies, often referred to as "settlements," were used to solidify the Zionist foothold throughout historic Palestine. Following the 1967 occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, more than 200 settlements and outposts have been built in these territories, in violation of international law. <SPAN>The Iron Wall </SPAN>exposes this phenomenon and follows the timeline, size, and population of the settlements, reveals 

how their construction has been a cornerstone of Israeli policy, and demonstrates how the Wall secures them as permanent and irreversible facts on the ground. 78% of the settlement population comes from Europe and North America. Israel receives approximately $10 million every day from the United States.</FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN>Anarchists Against the Wall (AATW) </SPAN>is a direct action group that was established in 2003 in response to the construction of the wall Israel is building on Palestinian land in the Occupied West Bank. The group works in cooperation with Palestinians in a joint non violent struggle against the occupation. Since its formation, the group has participated in hundreds of demonstrations and direct actions against the wall specifically, and the occupation generally, all over the West Bank. All of <SPAN>AATW</SPAN>'s work in Palestine is coordinated through villages' local popular committees and is essentially Palestinian led.</FONT></FONT></P>
