Six people were arrested for trying to block access to the base. Imagine if it happened here - a wedding party, 47 killed - would be a major national news story. <BR><BR>Northwood HQ houses a NATO HQ and a communications centre for UK and NATO forces occupying Afghanistan. Catholic Workers from the CW Farmhouse and elsewhere have been vigilling, praying and witnessing at Northwood for most of this decade.<BR><BR>2) ALDERMASTON BLOCKADE - YESTERDAY, JUNE 15TH<BR><BR>Martin Newell of Dorothy Day House, and Zelda Jeffers and Angela Broome, all members of the London CW, were among 6 members of the Muriel Lester's Affinity group of Trident Ploughshares that took part in a blockade of AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) Aldermaston yesterday, by a number of groups in a co-ordinated blockade who blocked most of the gates, disrupting activity at the base. Eleven people from the other groups were arrested.
