They are using different wiki software,
http://tikiwiki.org/ where as the SSF wiki is using
http://www.mediawiki.org/ ...

There are some RSS feeds available, eg:

  http://wiki.sheffieldsocialforum.org.uk/index.php?title=Special:Recentchanges&feed=rss

  http://wiki.sheffieldsocialforum.org.uk/index.php?title=Special:Newpages&feed=rss

I agree that having a RSS feed of the gallery would be
nice...

Perhaps this will get added in the future, there is some
Mediawiki RSS info here:

  http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/RSS

I don't think Mediawiki can any blog type features...
