There is a open evening at the access space for Bec Garland new show 'Some
Beautiful Suicide'

Opening time; Tuesday – Saturday 11am – 7pm
Open Evening; Friday the 2nd of December 5pm till 8pm

In December 05 the Access space will be presenting its fourth
exhibition and the first solo show in its new programme of exhibitions
curated by Eric Winnert: Bec Garland's Some Beautiful Suicide, a
photographic series that looks at dreams, desire and longing.

The Access space is a charity funded by the Art Council England, and
is an open access computer lab that teaches for free Internet and
computer skills. The aim of the exhibition programme is to brighten up
and stimulate creative action within the open access computer labs.

Some beautiful suicide shows medium and large-scale colour photographs
taken in Norway and Croatia in 2005. The photographs sit somewhere
between reality and fiction, the everyday and the dream. Bec Garland
is interested in Narration and use of words in minimum form to
support, extend and develop the pictures and the way they are read by
the audience. The title 'Some beautiful suicide' comes from some
beautiful conversation with a friend of the artist.
