Didn't know there was a work weekend;)
BTW you might already have read a most original and politically
provocative contemporary writer (fiction and essays) who's been
wonderfully translated into English by Peter Bush: Juan Goytisolo.
Goytisolo's books such as "Juan Sin Tierra" or "La Reivindicación del
Conde Don Julián": written about 20 years ago, the author depicts a
political utopia (not a dystopia or negative utopia but a positive one)
where Islamic people return to conquer Spain and Europe and establish a
great civilization (as they did through legendary "Count Don Julian" in
the viiith century, this count being the governor who guarded the
Straits between Southern europe and Northern Africa, who converted into
Islam and legendarily let the Muslims cross the borders without any
struggle).
