This is for people who are editing various sections of the website...
I've changed way gig space events (and all other events are best done
the same way) are organised.
It's up to those editing the site to keep it that way.
Every event should now have it's own unique page. This is best placed
within the section of the collective which is hosting the event. For
instance all Gig space events are now under:
/collectives/gig-space/upcoming-events/
On every page for an event make sure there is a time range component
for the event. That's all you have to do.
Then, the event will appear automatically in the events page listing.
And, when the event is one of the next 6 Matilda events, it will
appear automatically on the front page.
ADVANTAGES
==========
This has several advantages over the way events had been listed
before.
First one can put as much info as needed about an event including the
flyer and links to external websites (eg. of or about the bands).
Second the info on the front page and events page will link directly
to this page so visitors will get exactly the info about the event
they want.
Third the new web page has more chance of being found by Google which
means more people might find out about the event. (The word's
"ketamine collective" typed into Google linked to the site within
about a week I think.)
Also all Matilda events are now automatically listed under EVENTS -
again linked to each specific page for their respective events.
so...
ALWAYS ALWAYS USE A TIME RANGE COMPONENT for each event (unless you
specifically don't want it to appear on the front page and the events
listings).
NB. If you add or move time-range components there is usually a delay
before they appear on the front page/events page.
