Hi everyone,

1. Nanotech
Fiona from FoE (Friends of the Earth) has offered to come and chat to us
about nanotech & some of its problems next wednesday at 12noon. Shoot me
back an email if you're interested & free so I can give it the yea or nay at
this lovely pointy end of semester.

2. SoS
Students of Sustainability Conference is less than 2 weeks away! Have you
registered? Y/N. We love you/Why not?
There are limited subsidies of $100 available, and we're asking MSA central
for further funding tomorrow to make it possible for everyone to come,
regardless of financial situation... it's a week long residential (camping)
conference around social & environmental sustainability issues, with a
packed program of workshops, plenaries, excursions, evening entertainment,
film screenings, and MORE! Rego is now $150, minus $100 subsidy would make
that $50 for a week's food & board (food is provided!), and all the amazing
content of the conference. So what are you waiting for? July 6th-10th.
Sign up, and send me timscott97 at gmail.com or Imogen imogen.jackson at gmail.com an
email to let us know you're coming, and/or would like a subsidy.

3. National Tree Planting Day
A heads-up from Huon, one of the enviro officers from Monash Residential
Services. National Tree Planting Day and Monash's Open Day '09 are both on
Sunday August 2nd this year, so, if anybody's keen to come and do some
planting, or has any great ideas around this, shoot me an email and we'll
tee something up. Particularly you biol soc folk, thank you very much!

Very exciting times. I'll call an esjc early in semester 2, or during the
holidays if you're all missing each other desperately (feel free to clamour
for a meetup). I think I still owe everyone a set of minutes to. Onto that
soon. Promise :) Also, just a heads-up: Enviro&Social Justice week is
Week 4 in Semester 2 (beginning August 10th). Have a think about what you'd
like to see during that week, and ping me some ideas which we can develop
over SoS & get cracking on in re-O week, or week 1 of sem2.

A pleasant snooze to you all (yep, it's 2.48am!),
Tim

p.s. good luck to all those who still have exams. send us an email when
you're finished and we'll happily get you back into the loop!
