ESJC ended up being postponed, but Julian had two-cents worth on what MSA
might want to say about current gov policy/legislation etc.
Maybe worth looking at and expanding on?

Hi guys,

Can't be at the meeting today, but regarding MSA's position thought I'd
contribute my thoughts.

I think MSA's position should be that we do not support the package being
put before parliament on the basis of:
1 - Too low an overall emissions target
2 - Too many subsidies for emitters to "transition", which in reality means
delaying change
3 - Weak solutions such as Australia's give the green light to countries
such as the US endorsing even weaker targets such as Obama's 17.5% (of 2005
levels) by 2020 (which translates to a mere 3% of 1990 levels)

However I think it's a tight call on whether no ETS is better than the crap
one we're getting.

J.
