Hi<br><br>I was planning to go into the garden sat afternoon at that time to make more measurements of the surrounding land and area. I need accurate measurements for a map and plan of the garden. This would include the surround area that is planned for extra infrastructure, such as the garden shed and hothouse/shadehouse. It would be great to meet u and talk to u about your ideas. <br>
<br>I would suggest u transplant the seedlings to larger pots. I would suggest putting in more seeds so there will be more seedlings for the mid november working bee. These could be pumpkin, egg plant, capsicum, climber beans and dwarft beans or what seeds u have that are summer vegetables. It may be a good idea to work out people to keep an eye on the garden during the summer holidays. Another planting may be needed each month, december, january and february. This will mean when students return in march there will be mature vegetable and there will be constant production, since they have been planted in a sequence and not all in one go. U can use the shade of the mature plants to protect the new seedlings from the intense summer sun. Lettuce do well under tomoato plants. An extensive wooden frame for cucumbers or gourds would also help to shade vegetables underneath. <br>
<br>For the mid november working bee, we are planning to upgrade the garden beds with sleepers, to at least one high, and expand the paths to 50cm, wheel burrow width or for wheel chair access. Tim is enquiring about getting compost from the university, to increase the soil depth. Exta compost will be added to beds with vegetables that need to be removed and replanted with new vegetables and new pea straw. <br>
<br>The top soil is very shallow, and is only 5cm high, with the raised beds this brings them to 15cm high. Most vegetable roots only reach 20cm, so this is enough at the moment. <br><br>I have included all of this information in the draft management plan in progress. I want to complete as much as possible for next week. Please email me all of your ideas.<br>

Hey,<br><br>There's still dozens of seedlings at the garden that really need planting or transferring to larger pots soon.<br><br>Is anyone up for gardening Saturday arvo from perhaps 2pm?<br><br>Or the morning if that's better for anyone.<br>
