09: KPMGs report into the activities of the Angel Group
FOI 2852
We have a received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
for the following:
I would like to see a copy of the KPMG report into the activities of the
Angel Group, one of the contracted accommodation providers for NASS
(National Asylum Support Service), which was delivered to
officials/ministers last October. I understand that discussions took
place between KPMG and officials leading to a final conclusion of the
investigation at the end of January 2006. I would therefore also request
copies of any correspondence between KPMG and officials, and or, minutes
of meetings.
Some information within this release was redacted under sections 43(2)
and section 38 (1)(a) and (b), and section 40(3) of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

10: Plight of the maid: report lifts lid on global suffering
Many domestic servants from developing countries are mistreated and
abused by their employers, Human Rights Watch reports, with children
often forced into servitude. Cases cited by HRW include two Indonesian
children working as maids who were beaten to death and a 13-year-old
servant who was repeatedly raped by her Indonesian employer.
