Hi Everyone

Christine's deportation has been stopped!
She is now back in Yarlswood detention centre and will hopefully be
released on bail tomorrow - Monday.
Christine's new solicitor was able to sort out a high court injuction
against her
removal and it was received last minute when she was already in Heathrow.
It was lucky that a decent interested, clued-up lawywer was found by
Christine's brother-in-law, after her having one that seemed disinterested
and absent - an experience that many asylum seekers have when trying to
get legal help.
I spoke to her brother-in-law today who said that it all wouldn't have
been possible without everyones support and efforts. He and Christine have
been very touched by the solidarity from people unknown to them. So
thanks to everyone who helped in different ways. I have been particularly
amazed by the amount of people who have sent faxes, and that is just
taking into account people who have emailed us back saying they have done
so.
Unfortunately though it isn't over yet , she may still be at risk of
deportation in the future until she is granted political asylum. The
support will continue so we will keep you posted.

All the best

Felipe
