Saturday 20th December will be the 3rd day of action of this campaign. Everyday, an average of 180 migrants are deported from the UK. That?s one person every eight minutes. These people haven?t done anything wrong. They are criminalised for doing what humans have done for thousands of years: moving in search of a better life. Moving to escape war, persecution, torture, physical abuse, poverty Governments across the world do not want us to see those being deported as people. They want to shroud them under statistics and treat them as pieces of meat. Airline companies are a key link in the deportation industry. Without them it would be impossible for the state to implement this aspect of the migration regime and there can be no migration controls without deportations. People being deported are often handcuffed on the flight and there have been numerous reports of physical assaults on people being deported by the security personnel who escort them. We once again call on all those who oppose the deportation industry and the inhumane treatment of migrants who are subjected to the wider regime of control that it forms an integral part of, to contact BMI and let them know what you think of their profiteering from this cruel practice. A full list of contact details can be found here: noborderswales.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/shutdown-bmi-day-leaflet1.pdf Being a Saturday, we suggest that callers focus on phoning the Reservations & General Enquiries numbers: 01332 854854 & 01332 648181 and the Bmi baby Reservations, 01332 648181. From eunous at live.fr Tue Dec 2 16:20:58 2008 From: eunous at live.fr (Crixus Nada) Date: Tue, 02 Dec 2008 16:20:58 -0000 Subject: [noborders-brum] urgent request !! Message-ID: Hello, I'm a french activist against borders and I would like to come to England with an independant photograph (Vincent Wartner) between the 10th and the 13th of december, it means next week. We would like to make a report about the english situation for migrants who crossed over Europe by feet and especially those who were staying a while in Calais. We ever worked many times with migrants in Calais and we need to have a point of view from english side. The idea is to meet with migrants in Birmingham and to follow them during two days in their actual life. Also we need some help from local associations to show us places where they live and to get in touch with immigrants. Do you think it's possible for us to have some authorization for enter the Detention Center in Solihull and Campsfield ? Is it possible to see something from the future Campsfield House Center in Kidlington ? Could we meet in this time (10-13th december) ? Would you agree to make us "visit" ? In France, we really need to know more about the situation on your side ! I hope you'll answer, Sincerely, Eunous www.dissidence-nordiste.org _________________________________________________________________ T?l?phonez gratuitement ? tous vos proches avec Windows Live Messenger? !?
