Well I object:-)

At least to the extent that *I* don't want to be a manager
because I have far too many other responsibilities. If Nina
is willing to drive the thing then good on her. As I
understand it the list is currently set to be unmoderated
and anyone can join - can't get much more democratic than
that. If it were moderated or required approval to join then
it would be different, because if Nina took a holiday then
everything would stop. In that case there should be multiple
owners, all of whom would receive an email requiring action
every time anyone tried to post anything or join the list.

If the list remains open then I would certainly object to
all new subscribers being given manager status because then
any hostile entity could simply subscribe, steal the subscriber
addresses and then destroy the list.

So what are you suggesting, that only the initial subscribers
be given manager status? I still don't like the idea. The rest
of you hardly know me, I met a couple of people once briefy in
a pub, you shouldn't be trusting me with that sort of power. If
there is a core group of people including Nina who know and trust
each other sufficiently then I would not object to them becoming
joint owners, otherwise I would be happier for it to stay as it
is.

Resignation from what? Or do you just mean you would unsubscribe
from the list? In that case you would still be able to read all
the posts because the archive is open to anyone, all you would
be doing is preventing yourself from contributing to the
discussions, which would be a shame.
