Hey all, especially those in London !

The right to protest is being heavily threatened. The new Serious
Organised Crime and Police Act (April 2005) is suitably vague enough
that if you are wearing a "Save The Whales" T-Shirt whilst on the London
Eye you could be arrested. You see, The Eye is within 1km of Parliament
and this is the new exclusion zone for where "unauthorised" protests are
no longer permitted.

The legislation is very vague and still largely untested. This is why it
would be fantastic to have a huge turn out to protest the legislation
before it gets a real foothold in either the courts or the British
psyche... It would be especially cool to have magical protestors and
activists out on the day breaking down the artificially constructed 1 km
boundary...

unauthorised protests within 1km of Parliament illegal after 1 August.

PLEASE JOIN US ON 7 AUGUST: Bring your banners, leaflets, placards and
campaigns for peace, human rights, asylum rights, labour rights, animal
rights, social justice, international solidarity, the environment etc...
to this action to defy the new anti-protest legislation and defend the
right to demonstrate near Parliament.

[1] There is a risk of arrest at this action, since it is an
unauthorised protest against a law which makes such protests illegal.
