Dissent! is grassroots activists like me  using creative direct action  to 
demand real justice, peace and democracy in actions around  the  first week in 
July, when the leaders of the 8 of the worlds most  powerful economies come to 
Scotland for their annual summit.
I have been inspired by the dedication,integrity and creativity of the  
people I have met in this network over the past few months.
We need money for transport, publicity, camping space for  up to  10,000 
people.

The G8 structure the world economy thru the Wrold bank, the International  
Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organisation. These institutions are  
unelected, unaccountable with secret meetings. They create poverty, destroy  the 
environment and increase the power of multinational corporations  dominating the 
world. 
 
They lend money to third world Governments  for such things as huge  dams 
which destoy habitats of human and non humans, divert water from   local 
sustainable cultivation.
 
They create unpayable debt which poor countries have to sell off all  their 
assets to repay...see the front page of the Independent last  saturday  for a 
terrible picture of deforrested Brazilian land due to IMF  loans...
They insist that poor countries open their markets for flooding with goods  
that throw local people out of work and call it Free Trade
