[Radical_childcare] meeting and recent laws

hi,

im really concerned about the infringements on our rights to home educate
our kids/children's rights/ our autonomy over education etc

there seems to be two major government moves recently which will really
threaten home education and childrens rights (not to mention numerous
other infringements):

welfare reform (abolition) bill
and
june 11th badman report on home education

i cant make the meeting monday 22nd, but could someone bring up in the
agenda to possibly link with local home ed groups (i have contacts for
these hackney which i emailed previous;ly) to spread the word (theres
possibility they havent heard of these two bills) and possibily help them
act upon it? i will definately be getting the word around the home ed
group in brighton, maybe some action down in brighton?

what do people think? these bills/issues arent specific to home educators,
as the general move to gain more control over our lives and children
affects all of us, and is creeping up on us one-by-one. home educators
range in differnt racial, cultural, class, gender, political (etc)
backgrounds: travellers, single parents on benefits, wealthy elite, middle
class dogooders, children with special educational needs, etc etc!
